Love Your Family

Right now I'm thinking about my wife, my daughter, really I'm thinking about home. It is such a weird contradiction of emotions at times. I have lots of happiness that I am blessed with such a family. It is all God's grace and goodness that brought us together. I am always amazed at how all of this has come about. Every morning when I get the message, "Good morning love." I smile. Yet at the same time my heart misses being with my family. I miss hugging them, kissing them, washing the dishes for them, and serving them. Sometimes it hurts so much that it makes this grown man cry. Missing them, not being able to be with them everyday is the hardest part. I would give up just about everything just to be with them right now. So here is my small attempt to encourage you to love your family.

Remember how special they are, remember they are God's grace to you, remember that the time you have with them is a tremendous gift, and never take that time for granted. Remember to show love to your family in practical everyday ways. Tell them how much you love them, tell them how important they are to you, and don't just use words. Express your love to them with kisses, hugs, and your time. Express your love by serving your family the best you can. Wash the dishes for your wife, give her a massage after her hard day, read a story to your child, ask your son or daughter how they are, help them with their school work, pray with them, teach them, and most importantly show them God.

Man, I wish I could do those things more but it is difficult to do from a far distance. There are definite ways to communicate love from afar but it is most wonderful when together. So for those who are physically together, take every opportunity to love your family. The extra hours of work can be called off, the fun days with friends can be canceled, and hobbies can wait. Your family needs your love, they need to see your face, they need you to be in their life. In other words, "They need you to love them. Don't wait, show your family some love after you read this. Be diligent and intentional always asking, "How can I love my family in practical ways today?". Also to bring our little family together quicker, check out our "Love Clothing" link or just give a little on our "Fund Us" page. Plus we would love to hear how you serve your family in practical ways. We will try to share some of them on our blog with your permission. Just email us: lovebreaksthedistance@hotmail.com
