love breaks the disrance

We have been quite busy the past few months working like crazy to begin the visa. We are at the point to start the process. My wife has her passport, we have our marriage certificate and We filled out a form that had fairly entertaining questions. It's time to go another small step. This process seems painstaking at times, and costly. Yet it's all worth it because my lovely wife in my arms is on the other side of all it. The reward will be worth all the work. It can be difficult now but it will not always be like this.

This process reminds me of a spiritual truth. We do not see Christ face to face, yet we love him (1 Peter 1:1-8). We are on a long journey here on earth where there is much pain, suffering, and tears. What keeps us going? We know the end of the story is glorious and full of joy in His presence. We know that all the hardships now is worth all the glory later. We know the suffering cannot be compared with the glory of being heirs with Christ and that if we suffer with Him, we shall also reign with Him (Rom. 8:16-18). Christ is the reward, and we know having Him makes the suffering we endure look like an amusement park.

Just as I know how joyful it will be when I'm united with my wife when the visa is complete, so we also know how joyful it will be when we are united with Jesus at the end of our journey.. The suffering is nothing, The pain is small, and the losses are not losses when compared with the gains.
